Minister declares opens marriage hall

THANJAVUR. JAN.23. The Minister for Forests and Environment, R.Vaidyalingam, declared open a marriage hall constructed by the Government at a cost of Rs.60 lakhs at Kasankadu in Madukkur panchayat union in Thanjavur district today.

He said the village was being provided with all facilities, including the marriage hall, under `village self- reliance scheme.' The minister also participated in a few marriage functions at the hall. The Collector, M. Veera Shanmugha Moni, said the marriage hall was constructed with Government aid as well as people's participation. All — poor of rich — without any discrimination should utilise the facility, he said.
